  • Eye bags: To Zap it or to Cut it?

By Dr Renee L (RJ CLINIC) Zooming in on our most popular question and undeniably the most confusing choice of all when it comes to our eyebag treatment. Should i just zap it or to get it cut ? At RJ CLINIC, we have a few choices when it comes to the treatment for eyebags: Eyebag Surgery : For the brave hearted, this is the gold standard to properly treat the eyebags for sure. Up to almost 100% correction, it involves reducing the eyebag fat bulk, repositioned to help with the tear trough deformity (the longkang under the bags), solving the saggy and loose skin issue under the eyes, dark eye circles also remarkably improves (though not 100%)! Eyebag Laser : This is an alternative to our eyebag surgery. With only a small needle sized skin nick on each side, a laser fiber optic (which delivers highly fat-sensitive laser) is inserted to directly melt the fats, directly reducing the fat pouch Fillers: For a small minority, eyebags are prominent due to the lack of cheek fats. Hence, for these population, dermal fillers alone are enough to sufficiently "treat" the eyebags. Too bad it does not work well for all. It all boils down to: Do you want it 100% GONE? Or can you accept a "just an improvement will do"?

  • DARK SPOTS After Acne

Why does acne leave dark spot? This is a condition known as postinflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). “Post” means after, and postinflammatory hyperpigmentation simply means hyperpigmentation after inflammation, commonly from acne, impetigo, eczema, bug bites, rashes etc. Melanin is natural pigment that gives colour in your hair, skin, and eyes. After inflammation or injury, your skin produce extra melanin, and melanin may deposit abnormally, resulting in hyperpigmentation. PIH can affect either your epidermis (skin’s surface level), your dermis (deep layer of your skin) or mixed. The lesions range from light brown to black in colour. It can occur in anyone, but is more common and longer lasting in individual with medium to dark complexions as people with skin of colour has more melanin. Similarly, people with oily skin often develop more severe, resistant PIH because sebum is a pro-inflammatory substance. PIH fades over time, but it can take months to years to fully clear. So, treatment can be done to speed up the process. How do we treat it? SKINCARE Daily use of broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen is essential to minimize darkening caused by UV ray. A variety of topical agents are available to lighten dark spot, namely: - Kojic acid - Arbutin - Niacinamide - Licorice extract - Hydroquinone - Retinoids - Glycolic acid - Azelaic acid - Corticosteroids - Vitamin C *long term use of hydroquinone can cause exogenous ochronosis, which is paradoxical hyperpigmentation of skin, characterized by blue-black discolouration. So, keep use less than 10 weeks and reuse after 3 months to minimise the risk of ochronosis. Lightening of PIH may be achieved with previously named topical agents. If fails to respond to topical products, or PIH involves deeper layer of your skin, combination with physical treatment like chemical peel or laser are required for significant improvement. CHEMICAL PEEL Chemical peel is a simple yet effective way to treat PIH. It involves application of chemical agent on your skin resulting in exfoliation of skin affected by PIH, followed by regrowth of new skin with improved appearance and texture. Getting rid of oil and dead skin cells by chemical peel also keep your pores clear, which means less blockage and less acne! LASER Laser toning with our 1064nm Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is able to treat pigments located deeper in the skin, thus is effective for deeper PIH. Laser toning uses lower fluence shot in multiple intervals. It does not leave scab as treatment occurs deep within the skin, and has no downtime. PREVENTION PIH can appear on sun-exposed or sun protected skin, but UV ray usually worsens PIH. To prevent further darkening of lesions and new ones from forming, avoid the sun whenever possible, or use umbrella, wear protective clothing, cap/ hat to reduce sun exposure. Sunscreen should also be applied on daily basis. Last but not least, TREAT ITS CAUSE . No inflammation= no PIH.

  • Should you be rubbing your eyes?

It feels so good rubbing your eyes, right? You feel the itch is gone, and your stress relieved, it is so tempting, right? Totally relatable. BUT, for the sake of your beauty and health, stop rubbing your eyes! WHY IS THAT SO? Apart from the increased risk of eyes infection, scratched cornea and thinned cornea, our aesthetic concern is that rubbing your eyes can cause ... DARK CIRCLES. Underneath our eyes lies the blood vessels. When you rub your eyes, the blood vessels break. Iron pigment from blood then leaks and pools under the skin, creating dark shadowy colour under your eyes, also known as hemosiderin staining . If you have allergy, disrupted lymphatic drainage systems can make your eyes look puffy and inflamed. Not only that, it may also cause your eyes to itch. The more you rub, the worse the inflammation. Chronic rubbing causes condition known as postinflammatory hyperpigmentation. Besides, the skin underneath the eyes, sometimes known as “ tear trough” is thin and more sensitive than skin on other parts of our body. While aging is the most common cause of undereyes skin thinning, UV damage from sun exposure also destroys collagen, which contributes to the thinning of our skin. When the skin is thin , it allows the underlying features to be accentuated, including blood vessels and blood stasis from eyes rubbing. In certain people, the cause for dark circles is true hyperpigmentation , be it genetic or acquired as in cases of sun exposure. Shadowing is another cause of dark circles. As we age, we lose our periorbital fat pad and tear trough becomes deeper and sunken. Shadowing from poor lighting enhances the appearance of dark circles. Other factors such as stress, excessive alcohol intake and smoking can also cause dark circles under your eyes. SO, HOW DO YOU KNOW WHETHER YOUR DARK CIRCLES ARE DUE TO VASCULATURE OR HYPERPIGMENTATION? Press on the dark area and then release. If it becomes darker, it is vascular cause. If it does not change, it is caused by pigment. However, it can be combination of both factors in some people. HOW TO REMOVE DARK CIRCLES? It is important to determine the cause of dark circles for correct treatment. To thicken the skin , topical retinoid is a good choice, but be careful of retinoid dermatitis especially if you have sensitive skin. Non-pharmacological treatment will be PRP (platelet rich plasma) injection/ dermapen . PRP contains of multiple growth factors, and has the ability to stimulate collagen synthesis, thereby creating a thicker and more youthful skin, indirectly reducing the appearance of dark circles or the “tired look”. For dark circles attributed to hyperpigmentation , combination of skin care, laser toning and skin booster injection is the choice of treatment. Sunscreen is a must, and skin cares containing agents like retinoids, hydroquinone, kojic acid, niacinamide, vitamin c, azelaic acid and alpha arbutin are preferred. In cases of sunken eyes that worsen appearance of dark circles, dermal filler or fat transfer give immediate result in the improvement of dark circles. On top of the treatment as mentioned above, lifestyle plays an important role. Spending all your money on aesthetic treatments will not completely remove your dark circles if the dark circles are caused by poor lifestyle such as sleeping late, smoking, taking drugs or alcohol. To change it or accept it? It is up to you.

  • CHIPmunk Cheeks!

by Dr Renee L. (RJ CLINIC) Have you heard of buccal fat before? I have clients who come to see me without knowing actually what is buccal fat. But just the mere heresay of it being the "golden treatment" to make you look slimmer. The ultimate dream for everyone is it not? So what exactly is buccal fat? Do you know? Buccal fat pad is one of the fats in the cheek with an extension to our temple area. It helps to make one looks young in a sense as it keeps you looking chubby (contributing to the chipmunk cheeks) and fills up the temple area, preventing it from looking too sunken. As we age, this long piece of fat slowly shrinks and slide down our skull with the help of our beloved GRAVITY, it leads to our standard old asian population face: bulldog cheeks with sunken temples. Know someone with this? We all do. Hey wait a minute? Won't it give you a sunken look like all the reviews i read on the internet? Nope! Not unless you have very high cheekbones like westerners, this is one side effect that most of us asians can escape. Woohoo !! "Nah, i don't believe you!" Why not? Have a look around you. How many of your (Asian) grandmas or grandpas have sunken faces as compared to the bulldog faces? Compare them with those ages population you see in western countries/movies, they mostly have wrinkled sunken faces. Agree? Then how does removing the buccal fat make you look slim? Here's how. Buccal fat looks like a fat pouch, made more obvious when you smile wide. Benefits when you remove them? ~ less fats in the cheeks, hence slimmer face ~ less chubby when you smile ~ less fat means less heaviness and that means, slower progression of "bulldog-ness", meaning looking old much slower with means of slower! Yeay! So in conclusion, does removing them make you look old? Big fat NOPE ! *Disclaimer: This article is written for asian faces only. • Lips - The first contact when one speaks.

By Dr. Carol Lee - RJ CLINIC Aesthetic Physician Introduction Lips are one of the areas that can be neglected when it comes to facial enhancement and anti-aging therapy. A plump, well defined lips are naturally more attractive and younger looking than a thin, aging lips with lines and less definition. As we age, naturally we lose collagen, and we tend to focus on our fine lines and sagging of skin, however, be warned that lips can also show signs of aging. Lips however can also define a face. For example, Angelina Jolie is famous for her sexy full lips. Interestingly, different lip shapes also can define your character according to Chinese physiognomy. Asian vs Causasian lips Now looking at all the Hollywood celebrities lips, many would admire these stars for their famous puckers and a lot of patients walked in with their lips imprinted in their mind , hoping to achieve their sexy pouts too. However, there’s one important point that Asian patients would have to bear in mind that is the ratio of upper lip to lower lip. Looking at example of these stars, you can compare why Asian lips are sexier when it is 1:1 ratio of upper and lower lip. Then, take a look at Caucasian lips and see that the ratio would be 1/3rd upper lip to 2/3rd lower lip for a perfect sexy lips. Now looking at famous Asian stars, you can see that their lips ratio are more of 1:1 .i.e. equal thickness of upper lip and lower lip. The best option to enhance the lips is to use a soft hyaluronic acid filler. It fills up the lips naturally and there is no difference in sensation as well. For the first few days, there may be swelling, bruising or unnatural sensation however it usually goes away within 1-2 days and you can fully embrace your new lips. When you come in for a consult, it is best to prepare photos of different shapes of lips that you like so that doctors can get an idea of what you really want and help you achieve your dream lips. My personal experience in lip filler injection As it was my first time doing lip filler on myself, it was quite daunting despite doing it multiple times on my patients. A good doctor is always empathetic and you need to understand what your patients are going through hence I’ve always strived to feel how my patients feel when they are undergoing procedures. Honestly, my pain tolerance level is somewhere 4 on the scale of 0 (absolutely NO to needles) to 10 (bring it on baby!). I’ve applied numbing cream to my lips for about 10-15minutes prior to injection. It took about 15 minutes for the injection to be done. I only feel a tiny sting each time the needle enters and truthfully speaking, looking back, I could have probably done the fillers without any numbing cream as well as I have always done other face fillers without them. I would compare the pain to the tiny insulin needle prick that you do for blood sugar and it is quite comfortable throughout the procedure. I had the side effect of bruising only because I bruise easily. But the bruising takes about 5-7 days and I cover them with lipstick after 24 hours of injection.

  • What is nose thread?

Let's be honest. Who does not want a perfect nose shape and height? Sutures and threads have been used extensively in the medical field for more than a century. However the use of threads in the nose for augmentation and beautification has a shorter history. The trend started in Korea after doctors there noticed threads on the face not only provide more collagen, they also provide some volumetric effect. Currently there are 2 types of threads material used in non surgical nose augmentation or definition. They are PDO and PLA. PLA is currently the latest threads used in nose augmentation. Historically, PLA threads last longer that PDO threads. Hence we can expect nose thread lifting done with PCL threads to last longer than PDO threads. How is nose thread lift done? Threads can be used to improve the heigh of the nose bridge by inserting the threads upwards (as seen in the picture above). Threads can also be used to improve the tip by inserting the threads downwards (as seen in the picture above). All these are being done through a small hole at the nose tip. If done correctly, there will not be any scar. Before the start of the procedure, there will be local anaesthesia given, so the procedure is painless. Nose thread lifting must be carried out in a sterile environment so that the risk of infection is near to zero. The whole procedure takes about 30 minutes to complete and the small hole will heal in one to two days. Some bruising and swelling can be expected. They will subside in two to three days. When nose filler? When nose thread lifting? Filler is still widely used in non surgical nose augmentation as it is very versatile. Texturally, filler is a gel, hence it is softer, where as threads is stiffer and firmer. However, area like bridge near the forehead that curves a lot, the filler will do better than the threads. It is because threads can not bend. Areas like the body and the tip of the nose, these are areas nose threads do best as nose threads are stiff and can support the structure of the nose. Who is not suitable for nose thread lifting? Pregnancy Local skin infection at nose Autoimmune disease (flare) Allergy to local anaesthesia Nose implant in place Unknown filler or material in nose Contact RJ CLINIC today to know which treatment suits you best. • How Fat is Malaysia?

Malaysia is the fattest country in South East Asia, with more than 50% of our population overweight and about 20% obese. These are not good news as obesity will lead to heart attack, stroke and cancer. And did you know that WHO has name waist circumference as the single parameter to health risk. That means if you waist line is above a certain number, the risk for cardiovascular diseases is much higher. The number for male is 90cm (35.4") and for femlae is 80cm (31.4"). So, big tummy is a known risk to your health. Of course, it looks horrible on you too! But, Why is it so difficult to lose tummy fat? Diet and exercise. These are the two words any healthcare workers will tell you when you ask them for advice to lose weight. And yes! Indeed, they work. But not many can stay focus to these strict, army-like regimen. Many will go through a yo-yo process in our lives. Losing 1-2kg, then regain them in a week, eventually gaining more weight. When we diet and exercise, the first type of fat that will first disappear would be subcutaneous fat (fat underneath our skin), the fat that we can pinch. Only under extreme exercise or starvation, then will the visceral fat be burned. That's why if you measure the visceral fat, although your weigh can yo-yo up and down, your visceral fat may go up higher and higher without you knowing. Is there a proven way to burn visceral fat? Yes, with the advancement of medical science, it is now possible to burn visceral fat with a medical device. Essentially making your tummy/belly smaller and reducing your risk to cardiovascular and cancer. Of course, making you look more handsome and pretty. Redustim is a Class 2a medical device made in France to reduce fat in our body. It is medically proven (more than 10 studies) to reduce visceral fat and subcutaneous fat. It is achieved by delivering biomagnetic field into our body, making muscle 'think' that they have undergone strenuous exercise and burn energy. One session of Redustim burns 600kcal. It is also medically proven that Redustim can reduce 2000mL of visceral fat after 12 sessions of 45 minutes treatment, also reducing waist line of 6.1cm. And Yeay! Redustim treatment is painfree and comfortable. Most people falls asleep during the treatment. It is like a SPA treatment. To find our more about Redustim at RJ CLINIC. Click HERE

  • Why is filler treatment so expensive?

Filler has been used widely and frequently by aesthetic physicians, dermatologists, plastic surgeons to treat patients for different diagnosis. For eg: plastic surgeons use filler to fill up a sunken area on the body after an bad accident. Or, aesthetic physicians use filler to fill up areas of bone lost on patients' face. So, filler, the name itself is self explanatory, it is a medical device doctors used to fill something up. What are the types of filler? There are 2 main types of filler in the market. The most common one is made of Hyaluronic Acid (the same component of our human collagen), the other type is not made of Hyaluronic Acid. The second group of filler is created mainly to stimulate our own collagen production. They can be made of synthetic molecules or calcium based. Hyaluronic Acid filler is abundant nowadays, widely available. But, are they safe? How to tell whether a filler is safe to be injected? The filler can be deemed safe only if it fulfills some basic criteria :- Manufactured in a GMP certified factory CE marked Externally validated Sterile (No germs) Externally validated on Purity (No dirt) Post injection studies peer reviewed There are many Hyaluronic Acid filler that do not meet this criteria and will cause serious complications if injected. These unsafe fillers do not have many of the above criteria and are distributed in very suspicious means. Being unregulated, the safety of the patients are also not protected. Some of the complications from these unsafe fillers are infection, lumpiness, hardening of surrounding skin, swelling, and disfigurement. Filler is the ingredient. In an appendix removal surgery, the patient is charged RM 8,000 . But the cost of the sutures and gauze is only less than RM100. Why is that so? Yes, the patient is actually paying for the skill and experience of the doctor to perform the surgery safely and accurately. Similarly, filler itself is just an ingredient we aesthetic physician use to beautify your face. Our experience and skill will be part of the bill too. A similar treatment can be slightly cheaper elsewhere, but will they come out as safe? Will they turn out like what you have in mind? A Picasso's drawing was never priced by the cost of the paper and paint, and will never be. • Causes Of Excessive Sweating and The Solutions

When excessive sweating is widespread, it is mostly a side effect of a pathology or other disorder such as excess weight, menopause, anxiety disorders, hyperthyroidism, Parkinson's disease, etc. Below, we touch on a few of these causes and how to obtain a solution. Hereditary Primary hyperhidrosis leads to sweating on the face, armpits, feet, head and hands. It begins during childhood and tends to affect a person throughout his life. Its cause is not yet well established today, but we know the triggers: a strong emotion, intense physical activity or the consumption of spicy food. It seems that 25% of people with hyperhidrosis often have a family history suggesting a heredity of hyperperspiration. Medications Excessive sweating can also be caused by taking certain medications. It can be a side effect of some over-the-counter or prescription medications, although this side effect is rare. The drugs that can cause hyperperspiration are most often antidepressants, such as desipramine and nortriptyline. Pregnancy Pregnancy causes hormonal dysregulation in women, causing dilation of small blood vessels located in the head, neck and chest, among others. This dilation of the vessels causes a feeling of heat that triggers sweating. Premenopause Premenopause is the phase that precedes menopause in women. The body then experiences a hormonal imbalance: changes in estrogen levels have a direct influence on body temperature, causing excessive sweating. Thyroid problems Metabolism may also increase due to hyperthyroidism (overactivity of the thyroid gland). The thyroid gland produces a surplus of thyroid hormones which can lead to an increase in internal temperature and therefore excessive sweating. Hyperthyroidism is a serious condition that requires immediate medical attention. Anxiety Excessive sweating is a common consequence of stress and anxiety. Stress hormones are released, causing sweating. People tend to sweat more when they are agitated and this phenomenon continues as long as they feel anxious. Diabetes Sweating is often a sign for people with diabetes that their blood sugar levels are falling. Diabetics may also suffer from night sweats due to low blood sugar levels during the night. Transient hyperperspiration can also occur during vagal malaise, myocardial infarction, or inflammation that weakens the body. What To Do Against Excessive Sweating? There are several ways to combat a sweating problem. Some methods allow you to sweat less, others act on the reduction of unpleasant body odor. Aesthetic treatment is an easier and much less complex solution to this problem. Pay Attention to your Diet Some foods and drinks promote the production of sweat and are therefore to be avoided to limit the discomfort caused. This is particularly the case for: Alcohol Tobacco Coffee/tea Spicy food Wear Appropriate Clothing In case of heavy sweating, be sure to wear suitable clothing. Avoid clothing made of synthetic material in favor of natural materials such as linen, cotton or wool. To avoid sweating at the feet, it is also recommended to avoid plastic shoes. Conclusion You could also consider aesthetic treatment such as botox and laser lipolysis. Both of these give temporary relief, but can be quite effective. The botox treatment is usually given under the soles of your feet, palms of your hands or under the armpits. The laser lipolysis treatment is more permanent, lasting two years or even more. It is only administered in the armpit area and focuses on the sweat glands located under your skin. For some individuals, it requires additional treatment. However, if you find it embarrassing and want a solution, then you should consider aesthetic treatment for excessive sweating. • Are you SATISFIED in bed?

A lot of Asian women are brought up in such a way that speaking and discussing about sexual life and sexual satisfaction is a major taboo in society. However, it is the basic needs of human to have a sexual life as part of reproduction as well as pleasure. Due to the societal taboo, many women and men alike do not seek and discuss with doctors regarding their problems as they are more ashamed to discuss about it in clinic setting and instead sought answers from the internet. Today, I will try to debunk some myths about the ladies’ precious part, the vagina and everything there is need to know about laser for vagina! CAN VAGINA AGE? Picture above shows the lining of a young vagina (left) and a ages, menopausal vagina (right) This is a common question I’m sure many women asked. And YES, vagina, like all the other parts of our skin shows signs of wear and tear and aging as well. Commonly after childbirth, especially after a natural birth, the vagina wall stretches to nearly 10cm in width to accommodate babies’ head during delivery and shortly after requires repair of the wall with stitches and hopefully it shrinks to pre-delivery state. But unfortunately, we all know that, the more times a woman undergoes natural birth, the laxity of the vagina wall causes dissatisfaction in bed for both partners. However, for younger women who experienced vaginal wall laxity, dryness and urinary incontinence, there is practically no other safer therapy to rejuvenate and repair the vagina wall. It is highly distressing especially for younger women who have not given birth to experience these symptoms, to have to wear panty liner and peed a little every time they sneezed or laughed too loud. SO HOW TO HAVE A YOUTHFUL VAGINA? The good news is that now we have easy and efficacious treatment for it using laser to increase collagen production and stimulate the walls of vagina to rejuvenate itself naturally without any fillers and major side effects. This technology as been around for many years in the European and America and recently gained popularity amongst Asian women for vaginal rejuvenation as we slowly progressed to be a more open society and start talking about the problems of aging vagina. Vagina can become dry, less tight, and even caused pain during intercourse when it starts aging. Other than laser, there are also available topical creams which are basically hormone therapy for symptoms of aging vagina such as dryness and painful intercourse which is more suitable for women who are nearing menopause. IS LASER FOR VAGINA THE SAME AS LASER FOR FACE? Technically, laser for vagina utilizes the similar laser wavelength to stimulate collagen production and plump up the vagina wall. However, we cannot use laser for face for vagina as it is different part of the body and hence the laser for vagina is actually designed specifically for vagina usage only. ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS? There is so far multiple studies conducted on laser for vagina around the world and there are many different types of machines that exist in market. One should look for a machine that has good safety profile and also experienced doctor to handle the laser machine. There is no downtime for the vaginal laser, however after treatment, you should avoid intercourse for 5 days. Hence, do not be shy to open up to your doctor and discuss the possibility of regaining your sexual life in balance and have a healthy happy vagina!

  • WHY DO WE LOSE HAIR ?

How does hair grow? Hair grows from hair follicles, that acts like the soil to fertilize and provides nutrient to grow the hair shaft. Blood vessels will deliver the nutrients and hormones that will affect hair growth at different hair cycles. With a normal hair cycle, large number of stem cells will be lodged in hair follicles and produces hair follicle cells. How much hair follicles do humans have? By 22 weeks of pregnancy, a baby would have all its hair follicles formed averaging 5 million hair follicles in whole body, of which 100,000 hair follicles would be on the scalp. And as we grow bigger, we do not grow more hair follicles, and when we aged, it shrinks and dies of as part of natural stage of aging. What are the hair cycles involved? There are 3 stages in hair cycles, i.e., anagen, catagen and telogen phase. Anagen phase is the growing phase of hair. Each hair is in this phase for about 2 to 6 years, growing averagely 1cm every month. Some people have long, long hair as they have long phase of growing hair, and some reach a certain length before it falls off eventually. Catagen phase is the transitional phase of hair where it forms club hair , it is neither growing or falling off. Telogen phase is the phase where the hair stops growing and remains in its state. About 50-100 hairs are normally shed each day at this phase. Why does hair fall occur? Hair loss occurs when the stage of growing (anagen) becomes shorter and the resting stage (telogen) is prolonged hence the rate of hair fall becomes faster than you could grow new hair. It is caused by multiple factors Why some people experienced more hair fall than others? It is a multifactorial reason for most people, for others it could be genetically linked, for the rest it would be stressful triggers such as pregnancy, cancer, etc. · A family history of balding on your mother's or father's side. · Age. · Significant weight loss. · Certain medical conditions, such as diabetes and lupus. · Stress. · Poor nutrition. That is why at each doctor’s consultation, we sit down and discuss in depth every medical details and lifestyle to see if we can modify any of the factors affecting hair loss. Can we stop hair fall? We cannot stop or reverse hair fall but we can shorten hair fall duration and prolong the hair growth cycle by supporting the scalp with nutrients and eliminating factors that could lead to hair loss. Can we naturally grow more hair? We can’t naturally grow more hair as each hair follicles we have are fixed when we are born, however we can grow healthier hair and thus prevent more hair fall. What can we do to reduce hair loss? If you are experiencing hair loss, find out the reason behind it and seek for proper treatment with hair specialist to prevent further loss of hair follicles. As we age, hair follicles degenerate and miniaturize thus preventing further hair growth and eventually as the hair follicle dies off, we are left with just bald scalp and no hair follicles. At that stage, we can only do hair transplant to provide the bald area with new hair follicles from adjacent areas. What can we do to make hair thicker and healthier? Hair is often the sign of health of our body. Here are some ways we can boost our hair growth 1. Eat a balanced diet. To grow healthy hair. we need good nutrients, Vitamin B (biotin), zinc, iron and protein namely. 2. Avoid extreme dieting. As we lose nutrients from extreme dieting, we may experience hair fall at a faster rate than normal. That is due to stress from dieting, it halts the growth of new hair and a couple of months later, you may experience stress induced hair fall. 3. Look into Platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment. Platelet from own body acts as a stimulant for dormant hair follicles to grow new hair and treatment is done monthly for first 6 months then subsequently 3 monthly to induce more hair growth. 4. Hold the heat. Heat from curling irons, from hair dryers make hair brittle and drier causing hair breakage. 5. Go easy on chemical and colouring treatment for hair. All these chemicals induce more hair damage and causes more hair fall. 6. Talk to your doctor about minoxidil. It is a treatment, clinically proven to help with hair loss. It may take up to 4-6 months to see results with minoxidil alone. 7. LLLT - Low Level Laser Therapy is used to stimulate the hair follicle to speed up the Anagen phase. Hence enhancing the number of hair counts. The LLLT also improved blood flow to the hair follicles hence improving nutrients for hair growth. 8. Boost them with Stem Cells - Regenera Active is a well-known hair loss stemcell treatment approved internationally for natural hair restoration. It uses “micro-grafts” that are specially harvested from own hair thus enabling minimal side effects. https://www.rjclinic.my/hair-lost-treatment-stemcell
