WRINKLES AND FINE LINES
This is the most common sign of aging where the skin gets thinner, less elastic and sluggish cell turnovers. This is worsened with poor lifestyle habits, excessive sun exposure, smoking, lack of sleep, poor hydration etc.
Wrinkles can be divided into static and dynamic wrinkles. Both of which, the solutions can be treated with proper aesthetic treatments.
Dynamic wrinkles appear when the corresponding muscles contract whilst static wrinkles appear irrelevant to movement.
At RJ Clinic, we look into the cause of the individual wrinkles and fine lines and give corresponding treatments. For example, if one has hyperactive mimicking muscle causing premature dynamic wrinkle, we would recommend some B.T.A. to relax the muscle, therefore reducing the wrinkles.
If the skin quality is bad causing sagging and static lines, we would recommend a series of treatment to improve the elasticity of the skin and therefore reducing the lines.
At RJ Clinic, we do not believe in one fits all treatment.

What Causes Wrinkles and Fine Lines
Wrinkles and fine lines develop as part of the natural ageing process, but several internal and external factors can accelerate their appearance. As we age, the skin gradually produces less collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, causing it to lose firmness, elasticity, and hydration.
Common causes include:
-
Natural ageing – Slower collagen production and reduced skin cell turnover.
-
Sun exposure (UV damage) – UV rays break down collagen and elastin, leading to premature ageing (photoaging).
-
Repeated facial expressions – Smiling, frowning, and squinting repeatedly create dynamic wrinkles that may become permanent over time.
-
Loss of facial volume – Age-related fat loss can make folds and wrinkles appear more prominent.
-
Lifestyle factors – Smoking, poor diet, inadequate sleep, stress, and dehydration may contribute to earlier skin ageing.
-
Genetics – Some individuals naturally develop wrinkles earlier due to inherited skin characteristics.
Although wrinkles cannot be completely prevented, appropriate skincare, sun protection, and medically guided aesthetic treatments can help improve their appearance.

Who Is Suitable?
Common Misconceptions
❌ One session works for everyone.
Every patient ages differently. The number of sessions depends on your skin condition, treatment selected and desired outcome.
❌ Cheaper treatments give the same results.
Treatment quality depends on the technology used, product quality, doctor experience and appropriate treatment planning—not price alone.
❌ More energy always means better results.
Higher energy settings are not always better. Safe and effective treatment requires proper assessment and customised parameters.
Results vary according to treatment type and individual response.
-
Early improvement: 2–4 weeks
-
Progressive improvement: 1–3 months
-
Peak results: Depends on the treatment and individual collagen response
Your doctor will recommend a realistic treatment plan based on your skin condition and aesthetic goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which treatment is best for wrinkles?
The most suitable treatment depends on whether your wrinkles are caused by muscle movement, collagen loss, skin laxity, or volume loss. A doctor consultation helps determine the appropriate treatment.
Can wrinkles be removed completely?
Wrinkles can often be significantly improved, but complete removal is not always possible. The goal is natural-looking rejuvenation.
Are wrinkle treatments painful?
Most treatments involve minimal discomfort. Numbing cream or local anaesthesia may be used depending on the procedure.
How long do results last?
Longevity varies according to the treatment performed, individual metabolism, lifestyle, and ageing process.
Can treatments be combined?
Yes. Combination treatments are commonly recommended to address different causes of ageing for more comprehensive results.
Is there any downtime?
Many non-surgical treatments involve minimal downtime, although temporary redness or swelling may occur.
